I thought that we were friends,

But I guess that I was wrong;

Because when I really needed you,

I found myself alone.

I thought we were close together,

And we would never part;

I depended on you,

And you only broke my heart.

Why did I depend upon you,

And think that you really cared;

Now I'm left out in the open,

Alone and oh so scared.

When I really needed you,

You turned and walked away.

And gave me no real answers,

At least not yet today.

There was a time that I remember,

When we were oh so close;

I remember how you cared for me,

That's the thing I missed the most.

When we were together,

It was the best that it could be;

But without you, I hunger,

I'm so blind and cannot see.

Why did I depend upon you,

And think that you really cared;

Now I'm left out in the open,

Alone and oh so scared.

When I really needed you,

You turned and walked away.

And gave me no real answers,

At least not yet today.

Sometimes I still miss you,

And long to have you near;

Other times I'm angry,

And I am often full of fear,

I wish I could just forget you,

And take this pain away;

But I'm not ready for that,

At least not yet today.
